Two Eight announces the formation of Iron Pillar United Mining Group through the merger of Two Eight Southeast and General Drilling, positioning both organizations for continued growth and expansion.
Over the past twelve years, we have built three strong operations under the Two Eight brand: Two Eight Central, Two Eight Southeast, and Two Eight Mid Atlantic. Each operation has played a vital role in our growth and in the opportunities we have created for our employees, customers, and partners.
Today, we are excited to announce the next chapter.
Announcing Iron Pillar United Mining Group
Two Eight Southeast and General Drilling, a respected drilling company based in Indiana, have officially joined forces to form a new company: Iron Pillar United Mining Group.
Iron Pillar United Mining Group will be supported by a strong partnership that includes private equity firm Mascarene, Fred Webber and the ownership team of General Drilling, along with the ownership of Two Eight Southeast. Together, this partnership creates a powerful foundation for long-term growth and expanded capabilities within the industry.
Iron Pillar United Mining Group will be led by Chief Executive Officer Doug Weible, with Brent Taylor serving as President and Chief Operating Officer. They will be supported by an experienced leadership team comprised of members from both General Drilling and Two Eight Southeast.
At its core, this partnership is about growth; growth for the businesses, growth for our employees, and growth in the opportunities we can create together moving forward.
“This is the merger of two great drilling companies into one company,” said Brent Taylor. “I’m honored to be named President and Chief Operating Officer, and even in the first week, I am already seeing the strong synergies between these two legacy companies.”
What This Means for Two Eight
Two Eight is not going anywhere. In fact, we are more focused than ever.
“This has been a strategic move by everyone involved,” said Ace McCarthy, President of Two Eight Central. “This partnership benefits the entire Two Eight team in many ways. It allows us to continue building on what we have accomplished over the last twelve years. Our commitment to our team, our customers, and our continued growth is stronger than ever.”
“We are excited to continue working alongside Iron Pillar United Mining Group,” said Chris Gifford, President of Two Eight Mid Atlantic. “Two Eight Mid Atlantic will continue growing in partnership with the IPUMG team by supporting turnkey quarry drilling and blasting services, while continuing to deliver construction drilling and blasting and custom crushing services for our heavy civil customers.”
Two Eight Central and Two Eight Mid Atlantic move forward stronger than ever, and our vision remains unchanged:
This partnership allows us to continue investing in that vision while also being part of something new and exciting through Iron Pillar United Mining Group.
We are proud of what has been accomplished over the last twelve years, and we are even more excited about what lies ahead.
Iron Pillar United Mining Group is just getting started, and we believe it will make a meaningful impact on the industry.
And for Two Eight; we’re just getting started too.
